In football, a down block is a simple but essential move — a small step inside to seal off risk and create structure so the play can develop.

That same idea drives my work with family offices and investment firms. I help family offices build clarity and alignment around their capital, and I help managers refine their strategies to engage family-office investors authentically.

In both cases, the goal is the same: create structure, manage complexity, and give capital a clear lane forward.

Clarity and structure

for modern family offices

What I Do

I help family offices build clarity, alignment, and structure around their capital. My work focuses on bringing order to complexity, strengthening governance, and designing investment frameworks that allow families to move with purpose.
The goal is simple: create structure, reduce noise, and give family capital a clear, confident path forward.

About Kevin Goldstein

As a former college offensive lineman, I decided to have some fun and name my firm after a blocking technique. A down block is a precise, disciplined movement that creates structure and gives the play a chance to succeed. That idea has always resonated with me — and it shapes how I approach advisory work today.

I’ve worked on the investment team at Stanford Management Company, one of the world’s leading endowments, and later served as Chief Investment Officer for a multi-family office. Those experiences taught me that disciplined structure, clear governance, and alignment between purpose and capital are what create durable, long-term success.

Through Down Block Advisors, I bring that same clarity and discipline to families who want to build enduring frameworks around their capital.
